Anyone ever install one of these on your R? If so is it worth it . My last long distance trip I had a grip ease and actually ended up tiring out my wrist trying to apply enough pressure to the palm to hold down the throttle. Wondering if this may do the trick since I think it catches and there no manual hold to maintain. Anyone had experience with these?

I have one on a r850 and it works ok , I dont use it much commuting but on the open road or long stretches it helps I set it to take most but not all of the spring pressure off takes a little getting used to. I had a cramp buster ( I think that was the name) will get another one it helped a lot as you can rest your wrist on it taking some of the pressure off your grip used it commuting.

I find that gravity works for me as a cruise control- no further effort is required to hold against the springs. My bike is 2002 and the throttle always shuts promptly when I lift my hand.
I was told I was heavy handed last time I mentioned that.

My Bike's previous owner installed a throttle meister, and in the process damaged an element of the grip heating, resulting in it being inoperable(heated grip on that side). After researching I learned that is a fairly common occurrence, so you might consider having the dealer do it.
I have no use or desire for cruise and would happily trade it out for your standard bar ends.

I've used a Bob's Wrist Rest (similar to Throttlemeister, opposite twist direction) for ten years, on several R-bikes, without issue. Very helpful during all-day rides and multi-day trips.

I also have the Bob's Wrist Rest on my '03 R1150R and it works great.

I have a Throttlemeister on my R1150R and love it. Use it a lot on the highway.

As somebody with arthritis I'm a big fan of Throttlemeister friction locks for long journeys. I had them on my last two FJRs and I now have a similar style device from Wunderlich fitted to the R1200.

Crampbusters and their ilk can actually be dangerous. They can allow you to be applying the front brake when you still have some throttle opening. I know of at least one person who has totalled a bike under such a scenario and I myself have experienced the unpleasant skipping of the front wheel under these conditions. Mine is in the bottom of my bits drawer.

I have had a Throttlemeister I my R1150R since new, had one on my F 650 before that makes riding longer distances easier. The trottlemeister is not a cruise control, but a throttle lock it holds the twistgrip in a set position so speed will vary with terrain. Also if you are setting it up on a bike with heated grips the grip will expand with heat, so the Throttlemeister will hold the grip tighter making it harder to twist the grip. It takes some trial and error to find the right position for the switch assembly to allow it to work when the grips are cold, you will have to move the switch assembly to make the inital adjustment. I set mine with the grips cold and do not apply as much "lock" when using the grip heaters. If you have or plan on adding GS handguards they work better with the heavy version and you will need the fitting kit for the GS not the R1150R. The difference is the insert which goes into the end of the handguard.

I have a 2006 R850R. If they are the same, I'd like to take you up on that offer to exchange bar ends. I'll be in Texas in October, could swap with you then.
