I'm "back in the saddle again" again.....

Wow..... this is a S L O W bike..... but it sounds good!
A sexy burble comes outa the aftermarket pipes, and you can damn near
hear the intake noise (if I didn't have my ear plugs in). I can't imagine
doing on this bike what I did with ease on the Roadster 1150..... It feels
like a toy, a manly Steve McQueen, Marlon Brando, t-shirt & rolled up
jeans kinda cool, "toy".

The gentleman thought he was doing me a favor by installing some
Gen Mar risers, and I thought the hella 'up-right' seating position might
be cool. My short torso was sitting TOO up right though, and my
lower-back is still killing me from last night's 30 miles in the saddle.
I took them off and hope it'll be better today.

One thing is evident from last night's ride, it's not a bike that begs to be
ridden like a Ninja tarmac warrior..... I found myself putt'n along on a
rode I would customarily be doing 70, at 55mph. We'll see.

The night it was ridden home for me. Pictured along side the Bonneville
is a 2005 Sportster 'Custom' the gentleman I bought it from purchased
for himself:

Congrats on your BEAUTIFUL new Triumph. I'm pleased to know you're riding again, because, it's evident to us that Pat is a RIDER. A MOTORCYCLIST. :smt038 Through and through. You could be on a Honda Ruckus, it doesn't matter, man, you should be RIDING, besides all the other daily trappings of job, house issues, we all share. Just like me.
Guy stopped me at the grocery store this morning, asked what kind of gas mileage I get on the BMW F650GS I was riding. My reply left him speechless."70 miles to the gallon." I suspect your Triumph will do very well on fuel also. You'll do great on getting it ergo-tuned to suit you, and will enjoy many miles of TRIUMPHANT riding. And your riding season doesn't end in December like mine... I better go saddle up and RIDE... :smt020

Congrats Pat!! Good to see you on two wheels again. I am a closet Triumph fanatic myself....shhhh, don't tell anyone
My plan for my next build is an old school "bobber" and I decided a few weeks ago to use an old Bonneville to start with. I just found this pic to use as a baseline for my "bobber" build. Waddya think?

The bonnie is as true as they come, and more than once I thought about adding one to my modest stable.

Its timeless!

Pat - my contacts at various scientific labs around the country tell me that the universe seems to be back in order again. I guess I know the reason why - you're back where you belong!

Congrats on the Bonnie. The Bonnie and the Thruxton are the most appealing bikes in Triumph's lineup to me. I'll have a Bass Ale in your honor.
