As a reminder, I live just North of Houston, Texas. My wife's family live in the New Orleans area......Metairie & Kenner to be exact (Jefferson Parish). There are 7 people staying with me and the wife here and 5 staying with my Daughter and Son in law. The men from Louisiana got back early this morning from a trip home to check things out. One house escaped with relatively little damage, the other 2 didn't fair so well. Water damage for the most part (2-3' in them). Thank God they had flood insurance (one for just over 6 months that they signed up). I just got access to "Impact Weather" from work and while the other two storm trackers I use don't show it, Impact has Ophelia heading into the gulf and coming in on the Mississippi coast. I lived in New Orleans when Betsy hit in 1965 and remember how poor of a job they did in forecasting where the storm may go. Seems they do a lot better now for the most part. I hope Ophelia stays in the Atlantic and doesn't bother anyone.

Just babbling, find myself sitting by the computer a little more now for some reason

And here I am, on the Atlantic coast keeping a close eye on Miss O. The models, at this time, are all over the place with this one. For the sake of everyone down on the gulf coast, I hope Ophelia stays over this way too.

Y'all hang tight.
