very glad they kept the white. Looks a bit ducati-ish but the seating position seems good. can't wait to see it at Motorcycle Show in NYC in Dec!

The instrument cluster extends forward as far as the headlight lens...good luck fitting any kind of windscreen!

I see that...perhaps the white bike HAS the "sport screen"? Smallest one yet!

How can you check the oil level with a boxer motor without a center stand? I check my oil level after letting the bike sit on the center stand for 10 to 15 minutes to let the oil runback into the crank case.

BMW used to charge extra for centre stand, though it is often included as part of a pack of extras.

Also, publicity shots are often shown without for aesthetic reasons.

So I doubt stand will be omitted!

I use a mirror: sit on bike, hold level, reach mirror with handle down opposite sight glass.

you could also get a mini tripod and use your digital camera or camera phone and set the timer to go off while you are sitting on the bike with the bike level.
(Sarcasm of course--give us a centerstand please!)

Sarcasm aside, and whatever the other uses for a centerstand, the mirror works just fine for checking the oil level.

This pic of the accessory engine guard shows a centerstand:

The bike is now on BMW site and they say "4 windscreens are available".

The white one with the red frame. Looks good. Looks less heavy (bulky) than my 07 R1200R.

I don't like the exhaust. It is ugly

There's no way that gas tank is plastic is it? or could it be? I hope not.

Based on my experience with the R1200RTW, I would say the new roadster is going to be a fantastic bike. However, having seen it in person at the Seattle IMS, it is not as nice looking as the previous hexhead and camhead bikes.
