Hey all,
it was pouring this morning in Toronto so I took the car to work (that large red thing in my driveway). I attampted to turn on the wipers. Couldn't remember whether to pull the wiper lever or twist it to activate. Ditto with the steering wheel audio controls. As I tried to remember which method activated the wipers and radioI realized that the last time I put gas in the car was on Aug 13th (to take my sone to the airport) and I still have 1/2 tank left (of real cheap gas!!)

Then the brain started kicking in.....when was the last time I drove this? Must have been a grocery run a week or two ago. Hmmm.....

OK ....deeper now!
I purchased this car mid-May 2005. I know have a whopping 2350 kms on the dial. I took mt R out of storage early April 05. I have over 12k kms on the dial for this season.


Anyine else forget how to use the accessories in their cage this summer??

Just remember 1 thing: DON'T COUNTER STEER!!!!!!!!!!

ALL THE TIME! I have a locking car cover on my Quad cab pickup. I have a trickle charger on it to keep the battery up. Last time I went to use the truck I couln't remember what the heck I did with the key to the car cover! took me an hour to find it. Now I keep it on the keychain with the bike key. Mine's an 03 with less than 5000 miles, however, I've managed to knock down some serious miles on the R, 80 miles a day on the commute alone, then a fun ride or 3 and I'm changing the oil every month or 3000 miles whichever comes first which usally is the miles.
Here in Arizona I can ride every day with no snow and the ocassnail rain.
The serious riding season is coming up when the temps are below 100.

I have to constantly remind myself :
- I should NOT split lanes when driving the car.
- at a red light, no matter how wide the gap is between the two cars ahead of me, I should NOT try to fit in
- I have to have at least one passenger in order to take the carpool lane

These days, I have to drive my car because my bike's rear tire got damaged, and I am waiting for a new one to be delivered. I do miss my bike My commute is hell in a cage.

Thanks guys...know I know why I have these large dents running on both sides of my cage....... I'm a bit hard of hearing.

My Xterra has become an errand wagon lately. Saturday runs to the grocery store and not much else.

Yeah, the car's windshield gets extra clean on those right turns. A few weeks ago I had to replace the its battery because it goes out so rarely that AAA visited a few times. Even as an errand machine, the car gets less and less use. I got a few surprised looks when I arrived at the post office this week with a large box bungeed onto the back of my bike. I enjoy making the cage drivers consider that motorcycles are more than just toys.

I regularly forget that a cage can't negotiate turns as elegantly as a motorcycle. If I'm thinking about something else while I'm driving, I will occasionally hit an entrance ramp I'm familiar with at a speed I usually hit it with on my bikes and realize at the last minute that I need to slow down. If I have a passenger with me, I find myself apologizing for scaring them.

The use of controls in a cage is not a problem however. While I put about 10k miles on my bikes in the summer, I put 18k miles on my truck, sedan, and two company cars during the same season for business travel

I normally rack up 8k miles on the bike each year and about 3k miles on the car. As for performance though they are about the same apart from the bike is mauch better away from the lights. Rev limit is about the same.
