Givi mounting plate

Does anyone know if a Givi Universal Mounting Plate can be fitted to the OEM silver rack? I don't like the look of the Givi mounting kit which replaces the silver rack.
Bob, I mounted a Givi V46 to the BMW lockable mounting plate which of course locks to the standard luggage bridge on the R. See my post from July:

No complaints at all, used it (and my system cases) to go the the BMW MOA Rally in Ohio, USA (about 1400 mile R/T) loaded with stuff.
