Going to be changing out the final drive and trans with the Castrol 80w90 oil conventional oil and I saw a product called Lube Guard Limited Slip Supplement at O'Reilly's as well. Do you guys think adding this will be beneficial? It states it can be used in any GL-4,GL-5, or MTF.

Well you really don't need to add anything to the oil. Just use GL5. Adding things is a deep subject, and everybody has an opinion for sure. I have always used syn gearoil on the oil heads I have owned with do problems.(nothing added).
But if it makes you happy then....

I might add that adding anything to the oil has the potential to interfere with the oils formulated chemistry and do harm.

Only thing I use is an additive to the FD oil call Guard Dog Moly. I've used it for I guess 7 years now. It was recommended on this site by someone (don't remember who) but the information I read was very convincing.

No additives.
If the OE engineers did their job, then the specified lubricant is all you need.
If the OE spec was incorrect, then you would see ample evidence of premature component failures for machines 10+ years old.

I use the Guard Dog moly as well in both tranny and final drive.

I went to the Guard Dog moly because of all the stories of FD failure. Never considered it for the tranny though because they're considered to be pretty bullet proof (except for the clutch splines!).

Wide use of Guard Dog here is due, I think, to Paul Glaves, BMW mechanical guru, who often recommends its use on the MOA forums and in his ON column (now discontinued) for protection and shifting ease. I've found shifting was easier.

Does the trans fluid lubricate the clutch splines?

Yeah, I haven't taken the bike apart to see the clutch. I should have read that we had a dry clutch though, haha. I think I read that the clutch splines should be lubed for maintenance (every 36? K miles). Seems like a ton of labor to just do some maintenance! I I had to watch a video on the proper way to remove just the tank. I don't know if I'll be able to get down to the clutch.

First time I had mine apart (rockster) not a bit of lub on it shaft/hub and it showed little or no ware. 169K miles. I did put a little on before putting it back together. I have seen a couple of others with 100k + with similar results.
