Seat Pics - Sargent, Corbin, Mayer Saddles, etc.

hi,
i've read a lot about aftermarket seats for the r1150r on this message board and i'm trying to make a decision as to which one to get. i'm leaning towards the sargent seat. i was wondering if anyone who has a pic of their bike with an aftermarket seat could post pics. to me, it's hard to tell what the bike will actually look like because the manufactuer websites all have photos that are close up. thanks. jason

Choosing a seat based upon looks? I guess that is what they call a$$ about face?
All makers have web sites - go there for comparisons based upon looks.
The real and only test is your rear end on one for at least a couple of hundred miles. I tried Sargent - great quality, best in the business, but hot spots for me. Bill Meyer's has worked for me.

thanks toner87. i had heard the sargent seat was a bit wider than the stock seat and that gives me a good idea just how much. really appreciate it and i'm def leaning towards the sargent seat. thanks!

Ok, dumb question of the day: How tough are the sargent seats to install? Is it just a matter of finding the screws on the old seat and changing away?

You just take the seat out of the box and put it on your bike.

Here's a pic of my bike with Sargent front and stock back. My Sargent has the little BMW red and blue stripe on the front and silver piping. The piping looks great when I have my wunderlich bag on the back (which also has silver piping).

yeah, that's super nice. i was planning on keeping the stock back seat as well so it's cool to see them together like that. thanks for the pic!

what is that windscreen that you have, does it come in clear (vs. smoked) and what is the capitol of Oregon?

I have a Rick Mayer saddle and I really like it. Recently, I had the opportunity to switch with a friend who had a Sargeant seat. They are very similar in appearance, but I found that my Rick Mayer seat had a bit more padding on the sides where your thighs grip then the Sargeant seat. For this reason, it seemed more comfortable for me. I think the Rick Mayer seat is a bit less expensive then the Sargeant. Quality is first class. Rick is a critical care nurse with training in orthapaedics and ostensibly was the only son of famed Bill Mayer who actually learned his trade while working with his dad. In either case, I highly recommend his seats.

It's the BMW sport screen with a laminar lip. Yes, the screen and the lip do come in clear. Salem.

Having had a Corbin , Rick Mayer and a Russell I'm with bmwDave and say cut through the crap and get a Russell . Night and day difference .Period
