Does anyone own an atlantis 3 pro? It is about $1600.00 and is it worth it. Any advice will help. Thanks.

I've had the BMW Airflow jacket and the Savanna Suit for five years which I alternate summer/winter. They have served me very well and have held up great. Thank goodness they haven't been subjected to the crash test but I think they are indestructable. Can't say about the Atlantis but expect your experience will be the same. They are all costly, but I doubt there is anything better out there if you can afford it.

I'll second that. I think I'm amoung the biggest fan of BMW gear. Mine was subjected to 2 crash tests, including a 100 ft. slide on blacktop. Held up and on my second accident, I credit their backprotector as saving my spine.

The Atlantis is excellent gear. Love mine.

Pros:

Practical - dries in an instant, even from being totally soaked, and except for total downpours is fairly waterproof
Looks (subjective but I like the understatement)
Quality - can't fault it. Top notch product, as you'd expect from BMW
Comfort - and it "shapes" around you with time
Safety - thick leather plus good protectors. The new ones for the 3 are softer and more extensive around the hips. I ditched the spine protector and use the BMW strap-on one
Sizes - enough to fit everyone well

Cons:

Price - although you get what you pay for I do think it's a bit picky to have to buy the hip protectors separately
Pockets - for touring not many of them
Goretex inserts - waste of (a lot of) money in my view. Not needed and big reduction in comfort
Gloves - comfortable but they are not waterproof as claimed (maybe the newer ones are better)

If you have the bucks, highly recommended, although you could consider the Atlantis trousers with a good Cordura/Gortex touring jacket - perhaps the best all-round, all-weather, 3-season combination, and, after much experimentation, what I use 95% of the time expect in winter.
