Lady Liberty Ride 2005 / NYC

Post by TonyT607 »

Had a great time on today's ride http://www.ladylibertyride.com .
I rode in to NYC with a couple of buddies from NJ and met a few more at the Holland Tunnel entrance in Jersey City. Then my bud Joshua (who normally drives a K12LT) showed up at registration on his brand new Rune and to top it all off Scottybooj showed up.

As last year, the Port Authority Police of NY/NJ Motor Unit escorted the ride out of Manhattan and north to Bear Mountain. After some downtime we headed back to NY but hit a major traffic jam on the Palisades Parkway (someone said it was an accident....we didn't get any details). So Scotty, Josh, Dave and I detoured through Rockland County and crossed the Hudson via the Tappan Zee Bridge, down through Westchester, the Bronx, and down the West side of Manhattan. Just in time to catch the party in full swing. Great Band (Steve Marshall Band). Great people (see pics) and lots of good BBQ. I split at around 4:30 but I think Scottybooj was the last holdout.

Enjoy:

Tony with his new best friends. Oh yeah, and the girls (Katie and Graciela) were nice too. The event MC introduced Graciela as Miss NJ but I could find no reference to a Miss NJ by that name. Who cares

nothing doing really....the steve marshall band went back on.

I finished my stogie and then hit the road. Sucking V-twin fumes all days gave me a headache.

Also, in the morning during registration, I ran into a guy w/a rockster. I think he said his name was 'Rickster' on the board here. Didn't see him the rest o' the day, however.

Tony, come on!!!! DJ, that cowboy hat chick, up close, was like oatmeal....nothing doing.

In pics she looks nice, but she was soooooo plasticky and made up she needed big sunglasses to hide it.

My poor friend Tony doesn't get out much. Either that or he needs cataract surgery.

Tony - I thought Elvis impersonators were a Southern phenomenon. You Yankees can't make fun of us Southerners anymore!
