Been riding all week to work at 0530 hours, but today was the first day it dipped down to 30-30 degrees( F) here in Connecticut. I was really impressed with the Firstgear HT Overpants I bought! Man, these things are TOASTY warm and comfy! I've never been a cold weather rider, but this year I'm giving it a go. It's really not bad at all, the only thing I think is a must is heated gloves. The old fingertips were a bit tingly after 45 minutes, I did have on some heavy duty gloves but they don't seem to cut it. Does anyone have any comments on the Gerbing gloves? They seem to be the way to go.

Anyway, no traffic, some foliage still left and that lovely twin rumbling along was a great start to the work day! I'm gonna keep riding until the
(AAARGGH) snow comes.

The FirstGear HT Overpants are very good!
If you buy some, order your normal size and they will come large enough to fit over your street pants.
I ordered one size down and wear them over whitie tighties and they fit fine.
Also in women's cut.
For those of us with a belly, we offer them in "Short" sizes. Get the waist size you need and the leg length will be right, and the knee armor will not be down around your shins!

Gerbing gloves are great and I recommend throwing on some GS handgaurds as well. Actually the handgaurds, conventional gloves and the heated grips are good for all but the coldest high speed long duration rides. Even the Gerbings at 70mph and sub40 degrees let uncomfortable wind in and the guards take care of that.

I have to agree with Kevin, the GS hand guards are really a help in cold weather. I was having some frozen hand problems last winter and bought the Gerbing heated gloves. They're thick and well insulated. You may find you won't need to turn on the heat unless it's really cold. But if you need themm it's a real pleasure to turn them on. The only thing I don't like about the system is having to rig the wires in my jacket. Now if I had the heated jacket with the jacks hidden in the sleeves.....That'd be nice,
