Anyone use this unit ? I see it being heavily discounted ($369) now with the introduction of the Quest 2.

Any input much appreciated.

I bought a GPS a few weeks ago, after doing a lot of research. The Quest was one of the two units I narrowed the selection down to. In the end, I bought a Garmin GPSMAP60C instead of the Quest, mainly because the 60C has a lot of features that make it more useful off road as a hand held unit. The down side is that the 60C doesn't have as large a memory as the Quest for map storage.

Based on my experience with the 60C, I don't think you could go wrong with the Quest if you want it for exclusive on-road use.

I have a quest and it is very good. I doubt I use it to its full abilities but it works very well for my purposes. The only downside is that the memory is a bit limiting, but not much so. When I went from Orlando to Asheville, NC, recently, I wasn't able to put as much on as I liked. It was still a lot though. Essentially, I had from the Tampa/St Pete area all the way to Asheville. There are ways to use it where you can have it map to mostly highways or mostly side roads. I haven't studied up enough to do that. Mostly, what I use it is to find addresses, restaurants and businesses. It has an estimated time of arrival block on the display that is invaluable when you need to be places at a specific time.

I finally bought one from EBAY a couple of months ago also after a lot of research. I'm happy with the unit, size, and operation. I used it to meet up with a few other riders from this board in West Va and it made the trip to the campsite fun. I think the routing is good away from the city, but everytime I use it around a large metropolitan area (Like Washington DC.) it get's confused on routing. I've found it easier to turn off routing and get close. Then watch the map. But away from the city it shines.

I have used the quest on my Rockster for the last 8 months. I think it is a great unit, although the screen has taken a bit of a beating from the elements it is still very visible in most if not all lighting conditions.

With a RAM mount on the reservoir it swaps easily between bike and car.

The memory capacity of the unit is enough for NJ, CT, NYC, Eastern PA, and most of MA.

I use it on batteries on the bike which will easily last 10-12 hours before requiring recharging.

At $369 I think its well worth having
