I just want to know "How much".

Looks a bit slab sided with that large, flat, constant width fairing panel. In the paler colours it looks truly horrible. The front three-quarter shot of the dark bike looks pretty good though. The headlight seems to look more natural than on the K1200S where every line appears to conflict with all the other lines of the bike.

I like it.....for what it is.......thanks Dean-O....any news on the new R1200S...we should see a real pic any day now.

Me likey too. I'm sure BMW will add graphics to the bike to spiff it up. One more bike I have to test ride

Sorry folks an engine that makes its' maximum torque that high up the range and that close to max revs is never going to be a relaxing ride
I still think BMW has stopped following the plot and is trying tooooo hard to win fresh buyers from other brands.
Just my two euros.

Like the K! looks fine... but the ST's staying for a long time yet.. I won't go ride it... always seems to mean another bike!

This GT certainly looks like an all day mount, but it doesn't really inspire excitement in the looks department. But hey, I'm not a RT, GT type rider. I'm sure that type of rider sees completely different features than I do.

Generally speaking, it reminds me of the Honda ST1300. It doesn't really look like one, but it has the same character. I know a lot of people have rated the ST lower because it doesn't have 'soul", but none of the tests have found any actual things to complain about. If this GT keeps company with a bike like that, it will probably be a winner.

Looks fine to me, especially when I remember that BMW doesn't copy anything anybody does, nor seem to care what other designers do. They do their own thing with success. It seems the European way, look at KTM and Ducati, Triumph also. Just my opinion. I'm personally impressed at the "model range" growth underway at BMW. Thats a good thing.

As far as engine power, a 4 cylinder with that much displacement, nearly 1.2 liter, could, by virtue of cam profile changes, valve sizes, intake lengths, airbox volume (and shape) changes, and especially engine management software, make power in many different ways. Which is to say, the 1200S and this 1200GT may have the same powerband; or they may be very different, even using the same configuration of a slant block with the same bore and stroke. This GT may have a huge midrange punch instead of a huge top end rush, it would take some changes in detail parts, but the designers could easily use the same engine as a starting point. I wouldn't judge just what this engine does for a living until the ride reports come in.
Remember that BMW used the laid over 4 cylinder "brick" engine in base applications like the K1100LT but also made the same basic platform into the beast called the K1200RS. One was 95 hp and the other 130 hp. Same engine casting.
