Last March the original battery in my 2002 1150r was replaced with a Westco sealed unit. With the weather here in the northeast getting colder I plugged in my battery tender plus into the accessory port just as I've done for the past Three winters, the red LED continues to blink as if the battery tender plus does not recignize the new battery. The accessory outlet works fine with my electric clothing and the battery tender works fine on both my car and quad batteries. I've double checked all the connectors and was assured by my dealer that the battery tender plus will work with the Westco battery. Any suggestions?

Although not a trivial task, try a direct connection to the battery.
If the charger works fine, there may be corrosion or a loose
connection that has developed over the riding season that is
making the charger balk when connected to the power socket
(but not enough to discourage flow from your high-amp-drawing
heated stuff).

If the charger doesn't work with a direct connection to the battery,
then your dealer was probably mistaken about its compatibility.

Are you using a powerlet adapter between the SAE plug on the charger and the power socket on the bike? vs the battery clips or SAE direct connection on the other vehicles? I had my powerlet adapter go bad earlier this season, one of the wires had broken off inside the plug. I replaced it with a powerlet super duper plug and no more problems. I think I may have broken the wire by pulling it out of the socket by the plug and wire. The upgraded plug has strain relief so even if you pull by the wire it will not put any stress on the wire connections.

I occasionally have the same problem. I unplug the tender from the wall and then unplug it from the bike, stick the charger end back in wiggling it a little bit and plug in to the wall again.
It seems to work for me.
