Overheard USS Ronald Reagan will be leaving the port for her first deployment last night.
At 0845, the news confirmed that she is departing @ 0900. Rushed to the door, got the bike out on driveway.

Haste makes waste. The bike rolled forward and tipped over while I turned around to get my helmet.
The symbol stands for *f%&k* in Chinese. Don't try this at home, kids.

By the time I got to Point Loma, she has already left the bay.
Oh, well! I'll take a good look at her when she comes back in 6 months.

Point Loma is a peninsula, runs north and south. At the tip, stands a lighthouse, built in 1855.
Never worked well because it stands taller than the low-lying fog prevalent along the Pacific coast.
36 years later, they built another one on the sea lever.

Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo statue, he is the first European ever set foot on what later became the west coast of USA.

He landed at where the red roof building in front of the naval vessel (USS Decatur DDG-73) on September 28, 1542.

Whaycoc and I may be coming to see you in July. We will need to get a small vial of the Pacific Ocean water when we reach San Diego. What's the easiest way to get to the ocean?

What were you doing taking pics...I'd have dropped the camera to pick it up quick.

Side stands don't seem to work when the bikes pointing down a slope...no matter how slight the slope is.

San Diego looks fantastik. I bet that fried squid sandwich was pretty tasty. We need to have a SoCal group ride one of these days. Are there any decent roads half way between LA & San Diego?

paul great post,i know it all to well ,just got back myself after heading down town san diego via the 5 and thewn took the coast back.
hey socalrob ive made a couple of post in the past about doind a so cal hook up , im was raised in L.A and i havent been on the 'crest' in years, and know that i live in san diego between paul and i im sure we could make your heart beat a little im pretty much good any weekend

Hi! Den and everybody.
It makes me feel so comforting from y'all fellow Roadster riders. Thank you.
The plastic head guard exploded in 6 pieces. Could have saved the head.
But the bike slid a few inches on the slope and the head took some minor scratches.
Debating I should get a new one from Chicago BMW.

Absolutely. Not much you can do from San Clemente South and Camp Pendleton North (US Marine training gorund).
But once you get to Oceanside and keep going south along the coast line, you'll see lay back surf towns just like you see in the movies.
And if you like Mexican food, you are in heaven. Better than Tijuana.

Hey Kidd, is that food from the Point Loma Seafood Co.
My stepson graduated from USD. Every time we visited him we made a point to eat there. Great food.

They use sourdough bread for sandwiches.
Not to be missed like Cervici, chowder, shrimp salad with louis dressing etc.
Wash them down with Anchor Steam.
Life is GOOD.

80 degrees here yesterday. Might have to break out the summer gear, IN JANUARY!

A socal ride sounds great, but I'm just so busy for the next couple of weeks.

I wanted to go to USD and my parents wouldn't let me go to school that far away. Then last minute my parents said ok but i was already accepted to Buffalo.

god, that was one of the most moronic decisions OF MY LIFE. Hmm, Buffalo or San Diego?....

I'm afraid to visit there or I'll want to go with or without my wife, son and unborn child.

San Diego is one beautiful city. Even living in a nice part of LA, I can get jealous of how nice San Diego is.

Its amazing how quickly in life we all get entrenched with the status quo. I know Santa Cruz is my ideal kind of city, but between kids, work, economics, I won't move there. I truely respect people that at age 45 can pick it all up & start over. My advice to people under thirty is to make the big moves then, it doesn't get any easier.

i made my move from L.A when i was 33 now 7 years later it was the best move i ever made not only the standard of living [for me] but business could'nt be any better
