stupid wrong sound on our bike(s)

Post by gunstar9 »

Hey all,

Check out the preview for the silly looking new movie Ultraviolet (Milla Jovovich).
Cool!! It features an R1150R. Too bad the sound dudes dubbed in an R1's (whatever, 4-cyl. sport bike) exhaust soundtrack.
It's just so lame.

F you, Peter Brown - Supervising Sound Editor. You suck.

They did the same thing with Paycheck...they dubbed a 600cc Honda Hornet..or something like that.

I have to admit the stock BMW sound is not that good...so I don't blame them.

Every time I watch 'Long Way Round' and at the beginning of each episode the two GS's ride past and there's that sound..gees  ..how embarrassing.

So...to me it's not such a big deal...at least the bike is in the film.. :D

yeah yeah, the stock wet fart exhaust. I know I know.

However, as flat and droning as it may sound, mine does sound much better with the 2bros y-pipe and can. The movie people could have at least tried. Or they could have gotten a more "futuristic" bike to go with the futuristic movie. You didn't see Sly Stalone riding around on an R1100R in Judge Dread or anything.

Whatever. Like you said, at least it's there, right?

Putting on an aftermarket exhaust would have been an easy fix to the sound. But I think the sport bike sound may have also been used since the general public, which doesn't know much about motorcycles, most likely associates that sound with a fast motorcycle.

Its cool to see a roadster on the silver screen but why not use a K1200R in a futuristic movie?

Wasn't that a Goldwing in "Judge Dredd"?

....however in the Bond movie with the 1200C chase scene, they didn't change the sound of the bike. I was pleasantly suprized.
