Also, why haven't we heard about Song here on the board? She's not a State Park Ranger is she?

It would be difficult to say that the R1150R or the K1200S is more "fun" than the other. They are alike, and they are different. For me, the biggest difference is that the KS keeps me more comfortable on day-long rides. I believe the more forward riding position transmits less concussion directly up my spine. The handling on both bikes is downright dreamy. The KS seems to ride a little better. The acceleration on the KS is, shall we say, a little more authoritative. One more thing: I really miss the convenience of my magnetic tank bag!

Song used to ride with me quite a bit. She loved riding, and she loved learning about America. Two years ago, when some of the r1150r.net riders were meeting at Montebello, VA, Song begged me to take her too. I finally relented, even though her total pillion time (up to then) amounted to 90 minutes. But she toughed out all those long hours on the bike and had a good time. My Roadster friends seemed to enjoy having her around, and they really had a good time teaching her the "BMW Salute". Song had a great time showing off her new salute all over VA and WV. After a couple of days, I told her what it meant. She giggled and called me a "crazy white boy".
