Windshield on 2004 Rockster

I just bought a used 2004 Copper Rockster. It had the BMW Comfort Shield. The wind noise was too much, even with earplugs. Now that it is off the bike I have what I was used to with my old 1985 K-100 a soft wisper of air over the helmet.
Do any of you have a windshild that you like on your Rockster? I don't want to cut down the BMW shield but it would be a cheaper way to go, rather than buying a new one.

I enjoyed reading the TIPS section and got some ideas to try on my bike.

What the heck is the "Comfort Shield"?

I've got the OEM shield and I've found that depending on where I have the GPS/mount on my bars I can get an unbelievable amount of wind noise or very little... keeping the GPS well 'inboard' of the right edge of the shield does the trick.

My buffeting stopped when I put on my tank bag and expanded side pockets. Seems the wind noise was coming up around bottom of shield.

I have the tall Wunderlich windscreen on mine and have to say it does make riding long journeys much more comfortable. I tend to take it off, leaving just the mounting brackets in the summer.

Send me a PM if you want pictures.

Makes sense to me-thanks for the tip.
