I am cross posting every thread! Here are some shots...

First, since one of the Mike's doesn't stop for photo ops, this was shot on the fly...



Tried the same technique at Mount Rushmore, but I don't think those rocks look like any dead President.



Shot this one over the shoulder in the Black Hills. Traffic was slow so it was a safe attempt.



Stopped in Nebraska this morning for roadside coffee. Mac is way down there with the Blue Goose...see him? Anyway, we chased, passed, encountered long coal trains from Grand Island, NE all the way to Alliance. This is one of them...engine at the front is 1/2 mile away. I had time to get 5 shots before the (caboose-less) tail went by.



The famous Devil's Tower near Sundance, WY. 400 feet from top to rock gardens at base. About 1/2 mile from Visitor's Center... there are two people on top. Bet you cannot tell me what color hat the guy is wearing!




We are well. We only get angry at each other once per day around 2 pm (EST).

At least you can schedule when you are mad at each other. Doesn't work that way with the wife!

Blue hat? With a green/blue/white plaid band running around the inside of the circumfrence of the hat. Tatoo on right forearm. Brown eyes. Brown shoes/boots. Chalk dust especially heavy on left hand - last two fingers.

Nice shot of that big rock. Over on the other side of that rock is this big field and one huge organ that is played while the alien ship answers back to the tune. Every few years they bring back people they have abducted and drop them off there. I know because they left me there back in March of '63

Yes, Chalk:

Chalk. There are several types of popular rock climbing chalk. Chalk is simply Magnesium Carbonate, MgCO3. The reason climbers use chalk is to keep their hands dry. Stress makes the palms of your hands sweat. Sweat on hands reduces friction. Using chalk while climbing reduces moisture on the hands and improves friction.

The most common type of climbing chalk and least expensive is the chalk block. Many climbers like to crumble the chalk into their bag leaving a few chunks. The chunks are handy for marking a set of holds on a climbing wall. This works well for bouldering. Climbers can mark off several holds quickly creating temporary bouldering route.

Oh. I thought maybe you could see Minnesota Fats up there or something.

Looks like a great trip. Love those pictures on the fly. Did you get any pictures of how flat the midwest is and how about all you see is corn, soybeans and sky? It is actually quite beautiful. Keep the updates coming!
