I've been away, so I might have missed the post on this board. Found this at Adventure Rider. What do you think?

Glad to see that they stayed with the basic Roadster look on the R1200R. I like it. Makes me almost wish that I had waited for one of these instead of buying the Rockster 6 weeks ago. Oh well, I got a screaming deal on the Rockster and I like it so far.

Has anyone seen the pricing for the new R? Hard to believe that there won't be a fairly significant increase.

Just want to apologize to everyone for the extraneous and misplaced topic. I didn’t even notice the R1200R section, thus the reason for my out of date info. Anyway, my vote is no on the new ride. The radiator look of the oil cooler puts it over the top. Looks like I’ll be putting 100K on mine before I give it up.

In my humble opinion, the r1200r has a much better front fender. In every other visual way, the 1150r looks MUCH better. I would not buy it personally. Now the K1200r is another story 8)

No way ! If I buy an R1200R, the first thing I do is pull off that mis-begotten front fender and put a proper beak on it. I think it's well done otherwise. Tell me you couldn't use the extra horsepower the 1200 engine would bring you.
The instrument setup seems to beg for a fairing of some sort.

Here, Here! The 'Beak' is what gives the otherwise standard bike it's soul. You who would remove it are missing the point. :)

I love the look and the specs of the new Roadster. The low headlight, of course, does not leave room for the R's most distinctive feature, but... hey, all things must pass.

I agree, the instrument pod begs for a mini-fairing/windshield - but I'm sure the aftermarket will quickly attend to this. Other than that, it looks agile, doesn't roam too far from the 'classic', has lotsa poop (but developed a bit too high in rev range for my liking) and corrects a few earlier transgressions (non-symmetric 'bags', tubby, lack of proper instrumentation)

I dont like the cheap look of the fluid reservoirs (they are way outta place on this machine) and I would miss the true overdrive 6th gear.

Just got a line on what "traction control" is all about for 2007.
Check this article. No more wheelies or burn-outs!

Also notice that article says that there will still be servos on the rear brake on ABS bikes/ Oh Well.
