This pic from MCN, looks to show the low 770mm seat, Looks like you really do sit in the bike. Nice to see a real shot to and not studio shots.
I do like this light silver very nice!

Pic is a bad photoshop job. One of the promo shots of the bike has been pasted over this background. Sidestand is floating in midair. The "low-seat" is photoshop'd too.

Look for shadows...... there are none. Also, the lines at the edges of the bike are aliased to the background. If it's the thought that counts, this is a good one.

The pic from MCN looks real to me. There are shadows consistent of an overcast day (look closely under the tires) Yes it's difficult to tell a photoshopped image from a real one these days but
why would someone take the time to photoshop this particular image? No reason to - it doesn't make sense.
Also, the lines on the edge of the bike "aliased" to the background are just "artifacts" - jagged edges caused by the compression of the photo for faster download times - if you look at the front fender/tire, you'll see the same jagged edges.
Yes, that sidestand appears to be floating but it may just be an optical illusion.
I work with photos and photoshop every day (I've been a professional photographer for 33 years) and I believe this is a real photo...but what do I know?

Funny how small details can make or break the look.
I can't get over the reservoir. It looks like a cup holder with a specimen jar in it....

Its wierd how no ones seems to like the racing style reservoirs, they look similar to the brembo gold line ones on my S4r.
Usually people want these and not the coffin or combined cylinder/reservoir u get on the cheaper monster/ older r1150r.
I think they look more racy and smaller to

a) you do actually SEE this reservoirs, the ones of my rockster, you don't notice them at all!
b) why do you want "racing style" reservoirs on a Roadster??
I think the R1200R looks cheap:
a) the "racing" reservoirs
b) cables visible all along the bike (for example from the stear to the tank)
c) the piece of plastic with in it the instruments
jon pierce wrote:Not so sure about this one.................it's not classic BMW, it's not cheeky BMW...........almost a little backwards in my opinion.
Oil cooler is now so large the motor might as well be water cooled and be done with it.
The new 'cheap' looking fluid resovoirs on the bars look just like other Japs. (I am aware that BMW are fitting these on all of the new bikes) They just look flimsy.
....................
The front wishbone has gone back to a simpler, cheaper looking design. The 1150 wishbone is a sculpture by comparison.
The front forks have also gone back to a simpler, cheaper looking design.

DUDES! It's a naked bike.
I just hope they don't come with that big a$$ed tag on the back. Why on earth do they need such a large license plate?

Ah, man, now you've ruined it for me.

Sort of like when someone told me that the Honda Pacific Coast looked like a commode. Now all I see is a commode when I see one of those.
