BMW MOA Rally in VT
Did anyone go to this? I went and just got back last night. I didn't end up riding up (from Massachusetts) because I took the whole family.
Anyway, I had a great time. Spent too much money on accessories but got the SW-MOTECH tank bag I'd been wanting for a while.
Saw some great bikes and snapped some good pics of many of them. I'll post when I get back home next week.
BTW, one of the products I saw was the HyperLite LED brake light kit that looked really great. There was another solution that replaced your existing brake light but I noticed that it was MUCH dimmer than HyperLite. And, it was twice as expensive!!
All in all, it was a great rally (my first). The kids had a good time and my wife (new 650 rider) enjoyed it too.

Just got back. A great time. Saturday around 2PM the rain started, and it did not stop until we got on the NY side of Lake Champlain via the ferry at 11:30AM Sunday.
TonyT607 took a lot of pics, he will have them up soon.

Here is a video, if you look closely one of the pictures was taken from our campsite on the hill. You can see the pirate flag!

sj,
I camped about 50 yards from you on the "Grassy Knoll". I saw the flag but everytime i went by no one was there, should have called you, bummer.
Had lots of fun except for the rain, but hey, anyone can do it in the sunshine right?
We came home on Rt 17 and into NY and down past Lake George, beautiful run.
When we hit Rt 90 we headed for the interstate, but Rt 88 is pretty nice scenery too! Was glad the rain stopped.
The rally was great. It was awesome to see all those beemers in one place, amazing.
Went for a ride over Smgglers notch and down through Stowe... WOW!!! and ben & jerry Ice cream is delicious too, of course I knew that already but it was fun to go to the factory. IT started to rain when we were there. I bought Frogg Toggs Sat. AM because I heard the forcast.
Also got SM motech bar backs (their tank bags are very cool!) and a Kiser signal minder. Was looking at the gel seat pads. does anyhone have one of those?

Herb (sjbmw) said it - we had a great time. We (Herb & son Tom, Tony K-bike, and I) left my house on Wednesday morning and hooked up with another riding buddy, Josh (K1200LT) from NY. Easy ride to the ferry from Essex NY to Charlotte VT. Stayed one night at the T Bird Motor Inn in Shelburne VT and off to Essex Junction we went early Thursday.
It was nice to meet Herb and a couple of other board members: NoRRmad came by to say hi, and rph802 camped out on the grassy knoll, and joined us for a ride around Lake Champlain on Saturday. ctrider (Tom) also set up camp next to us and joined us for breakfast at Josh's hotel this morning.
More to come, including pictures. Stay tuned.
Edit: One of the pics here shows Herb and son followed by me, Tony K bike, and Josh LT as we rolled into the site. These gallery pics are the same ones as on the little CVE video.

I went to the rally -- first time for me. In fact, I really don't think of myself as the rally type. But it was a lot of fun. Easy ride for me -- just over 200 easy miles from NH next door. But incredible riding in VT, just spectacular.
Great bunch of folks. All you had to do to speak to someone was ask where they rode from and you ended up with an interesting discussion. Fun to see all those old airheads....and about as many GSs as one could ever see in a lifetime.
Camped on the hill (must not have been too far from you Herb) and was amazed how quiet it was after 10 p.m. Then again, everyone is up at 6 a.m. and suiting up for the day's ride! Half the fun was seeing so many Beemers on the road wherever you went in VT.
Rode home in the pouring rain on Saturday afternoon, which actually was a good experience (since I haven't done much rain riding). The mountain roads were still beautiful. And I had bought some RoadGear pants that made the ride a lot more comfortable--plus a reflective vest that made me a lot more visible.
So, all in all, a great experience.
