New to this site. Just got a used (2004 R1150R) with 2,100 miles on it. Put on 400 miles in the first week. Came with an aftermarket exhaust. Thinking about getting a rear rack and possibly a back rest for my wife for more comfort on the back. Any suggestions? I may get the side case luggage rack BMW approved set up.

Congrats and welcome.......enjoy and ride safe.
The rear BMW rack looks great..and the rails that it mounts to are good grab handles...the system cases are brilliant..but expensive..go for it..

The backrest is a good investment for pillion riders.

I got the Dark Blue with the dark engine. I only paid $8,300.00! The exhaust is the Laser Dou-Tech. Sounds like a low growl. I just bought the luggage rack and case holders. I bought the Cee-Bailey European 19.5 inch windscreen on the mail and should get the that soon. Hope it takes away the wind around the helmet. Will post the results later. Am commuting to work 45 miles each way to work and loving it!
Later,
Scott
P.S. I could not get teh back rest site to come up!

I have the Pirate's Lair backrest (bought used, but in excellent condition) off this board. My wife doesn't ride much anymore due to a medical condition, but when she does, the backrest is very important to her.
It comes off in seconds with no change to the look of the bike when it's off.
Good luck with your new bike, great choice.

I have tried to download my pictures here, but it says that they are to big. How can I make the pixels smaller to fit?
