awesome,,super idea! Detail? Prep, what kind of paint... how and such? woowww maybe just the lids on the cases? or the body not the lids? Most painted cases are not done all but just parts or highlights!

Both of the mirrors had damage to the backside, so got them cheap. Sanded them both down to 400 grit. I thought that all the scratches were gone, but now that they are painted, you can see some light ones still on one of the mirrors, so take your time and make sure any scratches are gone! I then had a friend spray them with gray auto primer and then several coats of paint from the local auto parts store, I took them the BMW paint code and they made me up a pint. After those coats, sprayed a couple coats of clear coat. I then rubbed out and polished them and mounted. If I do my bags, I am just going to do the lids
IC you did a pro job

Nice detail. My City lids and the lid of my topcase are silver. Here's the pic...

Nice job. When I did the lids I took them down to 600 but did them with lots of water. They look good after 3 months of use, no scratches, the clear coat really helps keep them fresh.

Thanks all for the comments. I just got back from a 4 day trip and really liked the new mirrors. Much better view to the rear. Now I really need to look into doing my lids.

Die Spiegel sehen wirklich gut aus, SitR1150R!
Ich habe meiner BMW die Cruiserspiegel der R1200C spendiert:
Die originalen schwarzen Plastik-Spiegel der R1150R sehen billig aus.
