FYI Installing T valve stems for TPMS

I installed an In-command TPMS system on my R1150R That apparently is NLA
It was a phone AP based system that will alert me thru my Sena headset
It uses the valve cap type sensors
Their are many other brands still available that use the same type sensor
To make inflation easier I installed T stems from Cyclemax
They are a Gold-wing parts House

The T stems work very well but require the flange be tapered and the OD be reduced to fit down into the countersink in the wheel
This is very easily done by chucking the stem in a drill and spinning flange against a file

I've been running one of these for the past 18 months or so. Works very well and is accurate. I use them on the rubber valve stems (which I change at every 3rd or 4th tire change) - And don't bother with the lock nut. If I need to air up... Just unscrew the cap and top up.
Very impressed with it and relatively cheap. An alternative.

Not to be an alarmist....a friend was running a screw onto the valve stem style of TPMS.
While riding with his wife on the back it pulled the entire valve stem core out at speed.
They didn't crash, barely.
I had a OEM system on a Kawasaki Concours 1400 that was internal to the rim.
It wasn't worth having.

Not sure how it could pull the valve stem core out
It does not attach to the core it only presses on it
Are you sure he didn't loose the whole stem
Was it rubber?

Just the core and yes it was rubber. FJR-1300, not a older Motorcycle.
I have also heard and read about balancing beads causing air loss failure in vales stems.
I'm sure there are many who have used them for 1000's of miles.
I will never be one.

All The manufactures of this type of TPMS recommend metal stems
