will this fit do you know?

i've managed to damage my front mudguard - rather foolishly - and spotted this:
r1100s mudguard on ebay
but having looked up the part numbers it seems that the rockster mudguard is 46617670396 but the r1100s is 46617677416.
does anyone happen to know if the r1100s mudguard will fit my rockster without mods please?

Yup.
My Rock is wearing an R1100S mudguard right now.
You'll need to find a shorter (or is it longer, can't remember) bolt to fit in to the fork bridge, the two mudguards aren't the same here and use a different length bolt. The only other difference is the little plastic holders for the brake hoses - the R1100S mudguard doesn't have the holes for them. Mind you - I don't think the steel braided hoses need those little holders so don't worry about it.

It will fit, cause it's the same. Rockster is wearing the S'-mudguard.

Did you do it like me, with the disc lock?? The lock was on and I pushed the bike back a little,there was a noise and the damage was done. the front leading edge down the fork leg all chewed up,not pretty. Oh what to do!!

Maybe:
- Park with the back wheel hard against the kerb so you can't move the bike backwards.
- Put the disc lock as near to the bottom of the caliper as possible so if you move forwards at least you haven't got much momentum up - cause less damage.
- Develop a disc-lock ritual which makes removing it the first thing you do.
And yes, I know momentum doesn't exist. But it still sounds better than 'inertia'. I think a friend of mine once had a girlfriend called that.
Sorry about your mudguard though. Its probably not dissimilar to how I felt when an earlier bike rolled forward off its sidestand, taking my new helmet with it to land on. Duh.
