Is the Throttlemeister the best product available for BMW cruisecontrol? If so, where is the best place to pick one up?

bang for the buck, the throttle rocker is better. If you are in a hilly area the throttlemeister/bobs wrist rest will always require constant adjustment.

My new (to me - 2002) RR has them - they are GREAT. My old cruiser had a Cramp Buster - I thought that was good...til I got the RR and began using the 'miesters. Once twisted into position, you can relax and cruise with just fingertips on the grips. I occasionally take my RIGHT hand off the grip when another cycle is nearby and do something innocuous, like adjust the mirror, just to see if he notices.

And, um, there's the no-hands thing too, but better not go there...

Not familiar with either unit but both seem to get good reviews.

I had the TM on my Rockster and Hayabusa, worked as advertised, but rarely used it.

I wouldn't ride without a Throttlemeister. They are great -- much better than Bob's wrist rest which never worked properly. However, for elegant simplicity (not to mention low cost) nothing beats the old drilled set screw that used to come on the old R and K bikes -- before we became such a litigious society.

The TM with a supplementary ridged ring (for ease of setting on or off) mounted on the inside edge of the weight works very well for me. The ring was custom made by a machinist and sourced through Twin City BMW in Savoy.

Definitely go it, IMHO. I have one and its great... would recommend the lighter weight, of the two weight options.

Throttlemeister works for me.

If you are frugal (did I say I'm cheap!), try bob's bmw for a bob's wrist rest. they will sell just one side for less than having to by the matching left side weight from TM.

I use the el cheapo trick of the rubber gasket between the throttle and the bar end for enough friction to allow taking my hand off when needed. Never liked the throttle rocker and took it off.

Do the TM and Bob's both take a different model for the R vs the GS? If so, I would need two, since I use the GS handguards in the winter.

Amen to that! My old RS had one and it worked perfectly and simply with infinate adjustment.

I do the same thing. gs handguards in the winter. I ordered the GS version from Bob's and have no problem in the summer.

I just remove the handguard and put the bolt back in the weight.

This is what I use...and also purchased at AdvWorkshop.
It's well made and can be easily controlled, even with gloves.
I had to polish the bar end, tho, as it came in a flat black.
