What do you put under your seat?

Post by aeschroeder »

I have a knife, my bike papers, a little cash. a tool, and ID.

What do you recommend as something to put under the seat to save you when stranded, I had nothing in there a few years ago but now OLD and in stead of say glasses, medicine, protection or am I too protective?

No water, food, two weeks off or a reprieve.

I've actually got a set of tie-downs tucked under the front of the seat/back of the tank. I had to move the diagnostic plug but they fit well. Good in case anyone I'm riding with has a bike failure and we have to load it onto a trailer or into a truck to get home. I've also got my toolkit with flat repair kit and registration papers. Not much room for anything else.

Under my seat

What I put under my seat is the Citrus Rockster.
(also, the R1200C).

I think it is no longer 7 minutes to midnight; last checked it was only 5 minutes.

Currently:

pillion seat : disc-lock, roll of duct tape (wrapped around an old empty emergency carbon dioxide canister), space for waterproof overtrousers.

Main seat: bungee net stuffed down the gap.

under the tank: first aid kit, puncture repair kit, micro-all-in-one tool kit with a LED torch on; all within one of the BMW ziplock bags.

strapped to left side frame rail, under rear bodywork: BMW toolkit.

It should be noted that under the tank I've relocated that "plug" that normally sites atop the air-filter housing. :)

The only thing I've got under my seat is my Autocom controller unit. Under the pillion seat is my tool roll. My tire kit and air compressor go in the side case.

What's under my seat? That's where I keep my drugs, guns, and money. But don't tell anyone.

Riceburner..you mean the clear plastic tube thingie under the air cylinder?

If so...that's the thing that the air cylinder screws into and the other end screws onto the valve to inflate a flat tire.

Underneath the seat are: Power Commander, registration & insurance, Streamlight Stylus flashlight, Swiss Army Knife (with corkscrew for wines) and a skinny tire pressure gauge. That's it.
Cogito Ergo Vroom - I think therefore I ride.

Yer gonna have to show me how you pack all that stuff under your seats as I'm not making the best use of the available space.

To all the American forum members: is it compulsory to ride with your papers?

Yes, if by papers you mean registration, insurance, and driver's license.
