I heard(or dreamed) that BMW was coming out with the LT version with the K1200R motor as the powerplant. Anyone heard anything on this?

I'm all over the k1200 boards and haven't heard of this. But I could see that as the next progression of LT. I don't cruise the LT bds.

I can't imagine BMW using that engine in their LT.

I've heard that BMW have dropped the idea of having a diesel engine in their K 1200 LT...that was on the cards..they say the engine will remain unchanged for the next few years...but then..can you believe BMW...no.

There is also a rumour that Triumph is bringing out a luxury version of their Rocket 3..that will be interesting...also a lightened sports version with upgraded suspension is said to be on the way.

Yes it is a bit sportier than the LT, but I think that LT will stick with the old K motor. I would prefer the GT as a long distnce tourer, since I like removable bags, and less weight.

K1850 GTL: Motorrad, among others, is firm on the matter of the new 6-cylinder K bike. Seen as an in-line format, the bike is seen as a "Gold Wing" killer. More in OTL.
F888 "RS" : Stefan Kraft has called for a race-biased version of the F800 S, dubbed the F888 RS. Envisioned as a 110 hp supersport, this bike is far less a certainty than the K 1850 GTL (see above).

Motorrad magazine is floating the idea of a sportier version of the S model in the F800 Series. Despite the Stefan Kraft sketch, this "BMW F888S" does not jibe with any OTL mole report. OTL Intel still maintains that the six-cylinder KLT is a better bet, based on usually reliable sources.

Just got my first CLOSE look at one Sunday, and I am in trouble. I talked to the owner, he told me about the exhaust, Remus carbon fiber looking thing,(really nice) with the cat. converter replacement pipe, Some nice bar set backs that he said moved them further back than the R1200S. And what really got my eye, was a throttle lock that was not a Thottlmiester. It had a blue insert that had ridges to get a hold of to set the grip. Really sweet bike. I just can't tell the wife, as she would have ME pay HELL!
