Ok a bit far fetched (so is 2 ride reports in 1 day!!)
Took Friday off work and rode out to Stonehenge, Avebury (stone circle) and Silbury Hill in Wiltshire UK. All of these monuments are between 4,000 and 2,500 years old.
Yes the camera is an Ixus 40, best camera I've ever had. Small enough to fit in a pocket and the rechargeable battery life is really great. 1 gb SD memory card gives you 9 minutes of movies or at full screen size and super fine detail, 1,800 pictures.

Too many people want to see the "stones". It is a major tourist attraction hence the fence and footpath access only. I climbed all over them when I was 7 years old on our way to a holiday to Cornwall.... back in the 1965.
If you are a Druid you can still get full access on the Summer Solstice.
Great pix.
Brings back memories.
I remember when i first saw Stonehenge i could not believe how small it was.
I think you build up expectations of well known places and then the reality is different.
(Like the pyramids where the shanty town comes right up to the edge. You only ever see the postcard shot from the one side which adds to the illusion.)
I love the Salisbury area.
Would love to go back sometime and just tour around on the bike stopping at all those postcard towns.
I remember going to Stonehenge and the fence was as close as you could get. It was kind of anticlimatic. I was on a trip and had 2+hours to spend there, and I lost interest in about 10 minutes.
The hill would be fun to climb. I live across the street from sone American Indian mounds that are about 1000 years old.
I absolutely love the look of the English contryside. One of the reasons, I suppose, that I watch so much of the Brit stuff we get on the dish. Well, that and the old steam trains!
Hey boxerboy...yeah that's right.... ...those yanks sure are funny...
In Britain Clark has slight problems to adapt to driving on the left side, runs several people over and accidentally lays down Stone Henge in reverse gear.
yes they are 1200C mirrors. They give a much better rearward view as they are oval. If you get them, you must also order the bush that slides over the stalk (part # 51 16 2 328 422).
