REGRETS!

Just wanted to stop by and say I wish I never sold my '04 1150R. :(
Probably 6 or 7 years ago now.
Damn that bike was fine!
Comfortable, could ride the torque peak and hoon about like a fool, then sit back and take in the scenery.

Too soon old and too late smart.

Enjoy your bikes folks!

A few months back we received a load of fuel at our depot and I chatted awhile with the driver. Two days later I ran into him making a delivery where I fuel up my personal truck. "You deliver here too!?" "I deliver to nearly every station in town. ALL the gasoline comes out of the sam...

I appreciate your reponse as this '04 1150R is my first exposure to BMW and I'm not familiar with all the foibles of the marque. And I'm sure there is much truth in the fact that bikes have failed and I just flat haven't heard about it. Heck I owned a VFR750 and never knew they had electrical proble...

Strictly playing "devil's advocate" here so no dog piles on the old man, ok? Unless you're a young woman..... Anyway, how many of these claims do you imagine can be dismissed as purely anecdotal..... and then how many down to hoonin' about/ham fisted riding.... and then how many to ...

 from R&R "Even though it is Christmas we are still able to dig out a few motorcycle news for you. BMW's R1150R and R1150R Rockster will during next year be replaced by a new R1200R with the latest engine in the same way as R1200 GS and R1200S got the latest Boxer motor. What BMW have...

This was discussed before
My '04 (don't have production date right now) is only at 70 mph for 4k rpm in 6th.
There was another like that in the thread as well.

Even at that I'd like the RT lower final drive.
2.91 I think.

Well, for New England roads I like the shorter 6th gear. Matter of fact I'd like to put in the RT final drive at 2.9X -1 (think it's 2.91 without looking it up) for around here. I like acceleration to blur your eyes! I know; should have bought a different bike, but this one's soooo comfortable. :) J...

XP or IE problem....HELP!!

When I click on a link in a post (pics of someone putting on bars or some such) the link opens fine but the main page in the back ground closes and brings me back to the desk top! I've scanned, rebooted, cursed, kicked and ranted.....nothing works. Any ideas? :?: I'm using XP2 and I'm a dolt compute...

On the whole I think BMW are priced too high. Though I'm having a ball on an R, were it not for the '04 blow out with zero down, etc. I'd have probably been on a Japanese bike. Z1000, another Bandit 1200, Zrex, etc. That said, and in opposition to my normal practice of a new bike every year or 2, I'...

Here's a wealth of riding skill info even if you don't aspire to being a "Sportrider."
One of the best publications on the market for in-depth riding skill articles IMHO and not because it'll make anyone ride like a racer.
