Re: Mirrors...
Thanks for the advise - I figured on doing the same thing as described - I wanted to see if anyone had a better idea or if there was a specific part I could simply order for that left mirror... I'm off to the garage to do some trimming.

Mirrors...
I'd like to install the more sporty, oval mirrors from a K bike on the Rockster. I see that the small plastic adapter under the left mirror blocks the movement of the "choke" lever. Has anyone done this and/or is there a seprate adapter meant for these mirrors on this bike. I've seen these...

Re: Windscreens..
Thanks Rice... A correction to my above reply - I am NOT looking for a full on touring screen - just a little relief... I'll have to look around for some "sticky pads"... Thanks!

Re: Windscreens..
Nice pic! I agree, I'm looking for a touring screen w/ complete wind blockage. However I would like a little bit of relief from the full on blast... How did you secure the visor to the bodywork?

Windscreens..
Just wanted to get some ideas, opinions and hopefully some pics of rocksters w/ windscreens. They seem to be few and far between for these bikes - I'm planning a trip across the states and I am considering taking the Rockster, but it needs to be set up a bit for long distance touring... The trip inc...

Re: Rockster Luggage
Sorry to jump onto your post Gubachoo - but your question is pretty much what I wanted to ask... However, I'm wondering if anyone would know if a set of system cases from a '00 K1200RS would match up to the "hard to find" brackets on my '04 Rockster...? I have access to those cases, and if...

Y pipe/Cat Eliminators
I'm interested in eliminating the cat on my '04 model... I see Remus offers a Y -pipe - are there other manufacturers of these Y -pipes and/or cat eliminators? If so - which are recommended for build quality - any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Newbie Question...
For anyone interested... I have replaced both primary coils in attempt to eliminate my hard starting, surging and low power problems. This was the fix!
I resync'd the TB's, reset the idle, etc and the bike runs like a champ. Thanks for the input and guidance through this one!!

Re: Newbie w/ questions...
OK - I'm getting more & more familiar w/ the bike and it's issues... I think I may have narrowed the problem down to failed stick coils.... After adjusting valves, syncing TB, changing plugs. Here is what I got... When running - I disconnected each primary coil one at a time and noticed absolute...

Re: Newbie w/ questions...
Would the weak/failed stick coil also be a factor in the poor high speed performance - flat spot and/or bogging sensation when rolling on a fair amount of throttle at highway speeds...?

Re: Newbie w/ questions...
I recently installed new plugs. Primary/secondary are NGK Iridium's... Is there a better plug to use - should I have stayed w/ the Bosch OEM"s? As for the fuel, I thought maybe I had a bad tank, I've run it down twice since the problem first occurred - each time refueling at two different stati...

Is there a way to adjust the high idle speed of the "choke" lever other then using the adjusting nut for freeplay at the grip..? When the bike is cold I can not get the idle over 1000/1100 with lever pulled all the way back - it drops to 900 when released and it rests in the mid position. ...

Re: Newbie Question...
I understand the bikes are set up lean from BMW for emissions... I'm not sure the bike should have such a flat spot or have the feeling it's bogging down. I can't believe that's right... Any other ideas?

Re: Newbie Question...
Still not quite running right.... I performed the TB sync in the garage and on the road and it runs much smoother. However - it seems to have a flat spot... Rolling on the throttle it pulls pretty good, then 5k rpm - 6k rpm it gets weak and then livens up again until 7k rpm. It's odd - even during t...

Re: Newbie Question...
Thats what I thought... I've only had my K bike hooked up to life support once to determine a code - not for adjustments... But not being familiar w/ The R bike, I thought I might be missing something... I've done all my own maint. on the K - I'm not stopping with this one... Thanks for helping clea...

Newbie Question...
I recently purchased an '04 Rockster as a companion for the K1200RS... I've been doing a bit of reading re: TB syncing... My Clymer manual clearly states that the R1150R (along w/ the R850R & R1200C) requires syncing by the dealer using the MoDiTec unit... Does this sound right..? What would be ...
