Thank you all so much - I bet the battery is exactly what the problem is. And you are right about the "Oh my God" light. That is exactly what I thought.
Thanks again

Re: Warning light on - then off after a restart?
Sorry, it's the one to the left of the ABS light - the ABS light was off while the warning light was on.
Plenty of gas and the oil was in the middle of the sight glass when cold.
Edit - and 8.5k on the bike. The zip ties have already been taken care of thanks to this site

Warning light on - then off after a restart?
I have an '04 R1150R with ABS, I started it this morning and before I got out of my neighborhood saw that the warning light was on (!) so I turn around and pull back into my garage and turn the bike off, give it a few seconds, and restart with no more light. Rode it into work fine after that. Any id...

Thank you so much for this! I just paid the dealer $200 to do the complete flush, I think I can handle it next time now

My understanding is the Mobil1 EP is what Mobil1 was before the Castrol lawsuit.

Re: Looking at a 2004 R1150R and 1997 R850R
I just bought a 2004 R1150R with ABS as a relatively new rider too and absolutely love it. I am a bit wider than you, 6'1" 230lbs (working on it) and the bike fits me perfectly. The bike has a great balance to it and the power is perfect, plenty of getup without being scary. So of course my vot...

Re: Total N00B with some questions
Sorry all, I didn't mean to create an oil thread. #-o In all seriousness thank you all or your replys. I an going to be using the 75W140 for the trans and 75W90 for the final drive. I'll also be changing the oil and I'll leave it at that :) Still debating on the clutch and brakes. I'm sure I could d...

Re: Total N00B with some questions
Thanks for the reply! The owners manual is something I'm missing so I don't have the chart for the oil range. Any idea where I can get a copy of a 2004 owner's manual?

Total N00B with some questions
Hello all! I just bought a new to me 2004 R1150R ABS and have a bunch of questions but I'll start off slow. :) The bike has a little over 4000 miles on it, and the previous owner said that he did oil changes over the years, but I'm not sure anything else was done. That said - it's time for some flui...
