Near fatal bike wreck
I just got my son home from Wake trauma center after 2 weeks plus in the ICU. He and my family have alot to be thankful for this Christmas since he will recover and he is alive. Fractures of his right hip, femur, both knees, one foot, nose, face and arm but no brain trauma other than a concussion. S...

Re: Aftermarket exhausts: Options, Price Range, Opinions
I love my akrapovic exhaust for my R1200R. 15,000 miles so far and it still sounds wonderful ! No problems with my BMW dedicated panniers. Always get compliments on the exhaust note. The best addition I've made to my R1200R.

Re: Pilot-Road-2 owners - wear patterns?
I have also noticed a "line" on the right side of the front tire of my standard road pilots at about 8000 miles. That line disappeared at about 11000 miles. Now I have 13,800 miles on them and the left side is totally worn out;back tire is worn "square" secondary to my recent 500...

Re: Shocks
I've been talking with Hyperpro re: replacement shocks for my factory lower 2009 R1200R. They can not make shocks for me at this time. I then must assume that is true with all the other replacement shocks. I'm apparently stuck with factory OEM shocks! Oh well!

Re: Shocks
Yes ,I am fairly new to BMW, 13,600 miles in 3 months since I purchased my R1200R however not new to motorcycling. 300,000 miles now on my 18th bike since 1965. The R1200R is by far the best bike I have owned. See my recent post about my 5029 mile cross country ride 2 weeks ago. The only thing I don...

Re: Shocks
Has anyone replaced the OEM shocks with after market products on their R1200R factory lowered suspension bike? What was the result?

Re: Cross country Western Trip
Tires are great! Fantastic mileage as they now have 13,650miles from new 06/24/09-OEM tires. Good traction, smooth, quiet. I need to replace them soon.

Re: Cross country Western Trip
I've practiced OB- Gyn surgery at the Bradford Clinic in Charlotte for 25 years. The R1200R is my 18th bike in my life-this was the fourth cross country trip I have made, however, the first three were in the early 70's. Real glad to be back in the cross country saddle mode-the trip was challenging a...

Cross country Western Trip
I just returned from a 12 day 5029 mile run on my new R1200R. What a ride! North Carolina to Rocky Mountain National Park in two days just in time for SNOW. Over Tail Ridge Road 12000+ feet thru recently cut 12 foot snow drifts. Leadville and Aspen were all ablaze in fall yellow Aspen colors. Hotchk...
