Strange tail light modulating action?
The previuous owner installed a piece that lets the tail light flash quickly when the brake is first applied, and then it settles to just a brake light (I think). However, I have been told, by those riding behind me, that it seems to act erratically(erotically I could live with, lol). Today, I had t...

R 1050 RT
I looked under exhausts and mufflers here but nothing. Not sure but I think I would like a bit more of a rumble from this twin. Any thoughts or examples you might have tried? Not necessarily a full system and not looking for performance improvements but just a bit more sporty sound. Thanks paul :D

R 1050 RT GPS Mount
My RT had chrome mirrors from the CL(I think)added in addition to the fairing mirrors. Besides being chrome, and looking hideous(IMHO - they are for sale)so I took them off. I saw a K bike with a mount that seemed to go through the same holes where these chrome mirrors had been. Nice and neat and it...

Thanks.
Not a "clean" freak. I believe machines should be in as good a shape as possible and be used. I do however clean my bikes enough so i can spot things like this. Given the choice of riding a dirty bike and missing a ride, I ride the dirty bike!

Newbie Shaft Seals question
I went through a bunch of posts on this issue and related on this and other forums(none as good as this, of course). T^oday out for a 200 mile jaunt for lunch, at a stop, I noticed some slight weepage at the rear seal(?)area. Really not a leak but sort of misting. Took it to my dealer where an exper...

Re: R1200Cl What is your opinion?
I agree with Ol Jeffers. If there are forward controls then it is out for me and my back. If you must have this type of bike, save your money and get the real thing with a nice Harley, like a used Deuce or Wide Glide or Heritage Softail. They are relaible and they are the real thing. Other than that...

A shrt trip to familiarize myself with my Anti/Harley
My HD '05 Road glide might been the smoothest bike i have ever owned but for the two K75's I had in the '90's. So today we went on a short blast through the S Georgia countryside and found a neat restaurant called Wiregrass in Quitman Ga. Will have pictures from now on. A little over 200 miles but t...

Turn signal modulators.
I'm sure my pdf manual has this but I don't have it at hand so where are the turn signal modulators? I am thinking of the Kisan unit and it claims plug and play but plug where? Sorry for all my questions but this is the first R series (R 1150 RT)bike I have owned. My K bike had push on push off, if ...

Re: Trade the Beemer for a VFR?
B12Bandit, I would use the adage i use in my watch collecting hobby. If I like it and can afford it, it's a done deal. In my 44 years riding, mostly Japanese bikes, two and four strokes, but with a couple of K75 Beemers in the mix, none has let me down unless it was a nail in the tire. I only put 20...

Re: R 1050 RT Battery
Thanks Ol'Jeffers, after I posted I finally found the same information you gave me. This will be for a rainy day project. I am not persuaded, howeverm that BMW could not have made it easier. They seem to live and revel in the difficult. The "Rondel" must stand for "see if you can figu...

R 1050 RT Battery
Looked on this board but lots of 'R' info but not 'RT'. Owners manual says to take off the side cover? I don't see a side cover unless they mean the whole fairing? Then the air cleaner cover and intake hose but what is it with the 'side cover'? Something I forgot to consider, what appears to be a b*...

Excuse the 'newbie' question but don't the BMW R series have dry clutches? So what is the clutch fluid?

Re: Lots of R1150 R's but any of the 'better' RT's out there?
Sorry but if I may, I would like to push this dead horse out of the road. My original "this is better that that" was meant as humor and sorry it was not understood as such. As to the mirrors(which in my opinion are rather garish)being from a Rockster, as i said i missed the call on that bu...

Re: Lots of R1150 R's but any of the 'better' RT's out there?
Thanks for the tip on the possible fix on the seat and yes I looked the 'Rockster' up and it is a fine looking bike. I meant the 1200 C or as we in the HD community called it the "B Rod".
Anyway. love the bike and this forum aint too shabby either.
Thanks again

Lots of R1150 R's but any of the 'better' RT's out there?
Hard for me to search to find out where the RT's might be but that is what i have and for anyone out there with one and/or if this question is appropos of the R's, how do folks like the stock seat in the lowest position? For me I feel like I am always sliding forward, actually feeling it but not rea...

Re: BMW Comfort Saddle or Corbin Follow-up
FWIIW, I bought a Corbin for my HD XR1200 (you give them your weight and inseam if i remember) and they ship it out fairly quickly. Understand the XR is not a BMW but the Corbin made longer trips possible. However the seat did not fit right. Their commincations was ok and after some suggested tweaks...

Re: Electric Vest
Years ago I had the Widder vest and chaps. I lived in VT then and it gave me a couple of extra months riding. Too bad they did not have electric roads for the ice and snow! lol They are better now and even in FL the vest might make riding a little more pleasant.

Re: Leaking gas....
Well the dealer replaced the POS QR and put in the one that should have been there in the beginning. No leaks now. Glad I have the RT as I cannot see any staining that might have been done. Pisser was I had just filled the tank and the bike was left in the shop overnight and all 6 + gallons leaked a...

Leaking gas....
Well, proud owner of a 2004 R 1150 RT for three days now, and so far it meets my expectations. No trips, just local by ways and high ways but I think it is a keeper. Today, put it on the center stand and went and had lunch and when i came out(I was at home and bike in the garage), smell of gas, and ...
