My hat's off to you Klink. You've got my vote should you run for the position of said minor deity. From many responses here, it would seem that if a car manufacturer decided to have a left-turn signal on a stalk to the left of the steering wheel and a right-turn signal on a stalk to the right of the...

Re: ABS
The owners manual doesn't state how to deactivate the ABS, but I'd guess that removing the sensor ring on the left side of the front wheel would do the trick. If you're looking for a neat clean way to flip a switch to turn it off, I'm not aware of it. I know on some bikes you can use jumpers to acc...

Thank you Oliver. Just the information I needed. Have you tried this yourself? How far from the end of the bar is the welded bit? The set screws and sanding/polishing are not a problem but the rewelding of the weights might be. I suppose one might use short set screws to hold the weights. Wait, why ...

Wow, no one even answered my question. Let me try again. BMW offers the bike with or without ABS. Most people who responded believe that's a matter of criminal negligence on BMW's part; believe that it should be standard. Be that as it may, it's not a discussion I'm interested in having here. I'm ju...

Handlebars
I have shortened the bars on previous bikes such as V-Stroms et al. since I prefer the response after removing an inch or so on each side. I found the R's bars just a wee bit wide for my liking. My question is: does anyone know of a technical obstacle to doing this on an R?

looking to purchase
I'm looking eagerly at R1200Rs after a test ride in July and I have a question. I know already that many of you think ABS is a good idea and I don't entirely disagree but I ride a CBR600RR frequently and was wondering: if I were to purchase a used R1200R with ABS, can the ABS be adjusted, turned off...
