LOOKING

I will check the Throttle cables and alternator belt. thanks

I don't see any gravel in the throttle cable pulleys. I know that one would have definitly caused a problem.

Thinking of a new K-R Questions....

Hi everybody! I'm thinking of "upgrading" to a K1200R from my Rockster. I need to know what the light-duty touring capabilities are of the bike ( with Bags, and tank and tail pack mounted) also, I am used to doing nearly all services to my Rock, and I know that I will be limited to only oi...

VIBES

I did a detailed shakedown of the tires/ wheels, and definitly ruled them out as the cause. I even had my rear tire changed on the trip, and know for a fact that I can lightly reproduce the vibe at a standstill, by revving the engine quickly to the RPM range that the vibes show up at. it buzzes quit...

not your normal Vibration issue. OVAD, TB's, nothing works..

Hello all. I just returned from a 4000 mile trip on my '04 Rockster that was very enjoyable, with one glaring exception that is driving me to the point of possibly selling my bike. It all started during my 18k service, that I did myself ( along with my 6k , and 12k services, the last couple of years...

BALANCING

Sorry I was not able to respond. I was away from the PC, and more importantly, trying to sort out my vibration issue on my Rockster. I am looking for what I may have done "differently" to cause a high frequency buzz, at 3500-4500 rpm. I've dont the 6k and 12k service myself, with no issues...

"Balancing Tube" - who's got the info on this for

I've seen it mentioned a few times on this board ( DJ ) :) - but I would like to see if anyone can help describe how to do it. I'm a little unhappy with the vibration on my handle bars, after my 18k service. ( I did it with carb stix myself.......this is the first time that i've had a vibration issu...

Rockster

I've ridden my Rockster harder than any bike can be...........for 18000 miles now, and I'm extremely happy to say that I've had no service issues. I doubt that your Rockster is "soft" when it comes to hard riding. you need some patience with the dealer, and allow them to fix the problem. I...

All of you DIY servicers: Fuel filter- when to change?

trip

Thanks for the info on this route! I'm certainly not tied into Missoula as a desination, however it is a known 1 day trip for me to travel to Bellingham, WA ( home), and I'm fighting with the idea of extending the total return trip from Minnesota ( via Nebraska) from 4 days to 5, cutting back on one...

yes, Peter.......that is the exact route from Sheridan to Lovell,Cody and then to Red Lodge and beyond. I have seen conflicting reports that this route is a Day long in itself, and I have 300+ mile more to Missoula, after the passes, to make on that day. How long do you think ( assuming no major lon...

1985 k100

my father bought a silver one when they first were available. we thought we'd died and gone to heaven, as it seemed so far ahead of anything on the market at that time, and I would ride it to show off to my friends....... $6500 - new, for a stripped K100 then.... ( I was 19 at the time....yikes!) od...

Highest mileage check...r1150r or rocksters

I know that there are big miles on other beemers ( including our r1100r brothers), but I'm curious to see what kind of miles are on the newer versions......2002 and newer, if i'm not mistaken, with the 1150 motor. any big mile Roadster, or Rockster owners out there? I've only got 17500 in 2.5 years....

Riding season and tire thread.......

I've been lucky to have been riding most every weekend in March, and some of February even. It sure feels good to get some warm temps coming on. ( I'm from north of Seattle ) I bought a set of new Metzeler MeZ4 tires from Ebay last week ( a dealer was clearing them out) , for a screaming deal, and p...
