About a year ago I was mucking around with my little cannon ixus40 camera and tryed mounting it onto the beak by using a piece of polystyrene foam with my camera stuffed into it and string holding it to the beak..I half expected it to fall off..or be angled wrong..but it worked out ok.
I was never able to work out how to post a vid..untill now..This old fart has worked out how to post it on YouTube..Here it is for those interested what the streets look like around my home down under..also the sound of a can-less Roadster..(sorry about the squeaky polystyrene sounds)

Neato DJ. Yeah, I agree the squeaky styrofoam sound was annoying, but the video was good. I would like to have heard a voice-over or some whistling or something.
How large was that file? and what kind of recorder do you use?
I'm wanting to do some video real bad, to use in a video/slideshow composite thing, but aside from the expense of the machine, I know very little about digital video/editing/etc.
test complete I can't wait to see what you do in the future. Personally I like the squeaky styrofoam. It helps to give a realistic experience of the crazy with a chunk of styrofoam tied to his bird beak riding down the street. Thanks, it was fun.
I was thinking that you may be able to help the wind noise and such with a piece of tape over the Microphone hole. You might still be able to get some sound without the wicked wind noise at higher speeds.
Phil, I bet you could use your camera for doing things like that. Most of the newer digital cameras have a video mode. Check your owners manual. It is pretty limited as far as video quality, but it is just as easy doing pictures.

Thanks guys..It was just a test and next time I will say somethink..ok..and tape over the mic is a good idea.
Phil..the camera is just a small point and shoot type with a movie mode..the file was 293 MB and was an AVI format..that YouTube don't take..so I downloaded a coveter and converted it to a MPEG file.
