Welcome Pat!

Great to have you! There are many, many great guys and gals here who are great sources of knowledge and experience. I've been hanging around here since 1/03 when I bought my first R. The knowledge and advice I've received here has been immeasurable.

Please don't hesitate to post any questions you might have and join in all the discussions that go on.

And -- you need to post some pics of your ride too!

Welcome a-board, Pat. And congratulations on your purchase of a GREAT motorcycle! If you have questions, the archives are a wealth of information, and if you can't find it there, just ask here. The many good riders on this board have a lot of experience with RR bikes, and are very helpful.

Hi Pat

Welcome. I discovered this forum after I bought my bike but the information shared and friendliness of the members is just fantastic.

Hope that you have many thousands of pleasant miles on your bike.

Alot of very friendly and capable owners/riders here.

And we're both fortunate enough to live near truly fine riding destinations. Do you ever go to Palamar, Anza Borrego?

You've made a wise choice Grasshopper. I've had many bikes over the last 30 years and the R1150R is the absolute best all arounder out there. It does it all, and does it all very well. Enjoy it.

markg-
tremendous site. i can not believe the amount of info here and the fantastic spirit of this community.
i am back on a motorcycle for the first time since 1984. so while i have done palomar and anza borrego, those trips were on a bicycle. i am easing into this motorcycle thing, still have to take my first safety course jan. 11, 12, and 13. just trying to get competent right now; will think about palomar and beyond when i have built up some skills.
thanks,
pat

Excellent first step taking a skill course...it will help keep you whole.
You might also want to take a gander at some of David Hough books. Great writer... er, rider! "Proficient Motorcycling" is his first, and IMHO, best.

Welcome Pat...
I agree with sunbeemer on the proficient motorcycling. I got the 2nd one for Christmas and I can't wait to read it because the first one is so good.
