There are still some 07 R1200S models at the dealers that can be purchased for 10K less than these HP models, and they are fine handling bikes, not short on power or brakes either.

At the bike show in Seattle a few weeks ago I had a VERY difficult time geting to see anything other than the HP2. Beautifully detailed design, reasonably comfortable (static display, darn it!), and basically just a fantastic looking bike.

Only managed to see the rest of the bikes (including the new, but ugly, Ducati Monster) by routinely returning back to the BMW display to gaze fondly at the object of my newest moto-lust.

I know it's WAY out of price range for an old retired duffer like me...but a boy can dream, can't he?

Ciao! BJ

Well - they look nice, don't they ... but:

Bugger all comfort, no pannier mounting points. etc. etc.

I am sure it will be blast - but if you want a crotch rocket with BMW roundel - something like K1200S springs to mind being practical and crazy at the same time.

my £0.01 ($0.02)

Of course I would like to have one (HP 2 Sport or plain vanilla R1200S) ... if I could afford 2 bikes ...

Not so close, I live south of Indianapolis about 40 miles. Ever hear of Nashville, IN? I'm about 10 minutes from there. I bought my R12R from Charlie this summer, he's a he!! of a funny guy, was great to work with on the sale and the shop guys have taken good care of me after the fact. Best Regards, Keith

p.s., gorgeous bike you have there BTW
