I did put an Illmberger Hugger on (great EBAY buy!) to protect the rear shock (plus it looks cool.. and keeps the battery area clean..)

The ride was successful.. about 100 miles, sun finally came out and I followed it home. Temp reached 50F - for January in NJ this is wonderful bike weather.

I've now fitted an Ilmberger hugger to keep crud off my new shock. It looks very pretty, but I must admit to being somewhat chagrined when I was on a ride with some mates last weekend. I saw the owner of a KTM Superduke had solved the same problem on his bike with a rectangle of heavy duty inner tube rubber and some zip ties. Would not please the farklers, but it does the same job for pennies.
