Much of the time they are really cute
But, sometimes disaster strikes in the most unexpected ways; example, a picture with JJ (yours truly)
or the rightly maligned bite on the head with concurrent eye-grab, where did that come from?!!!
And the so-called "big" sisters were not much help
What's a grandfather to do. One word: E s c a p e; so, since I could I did.
Hoped on the freshly farkled roadster (Thanks Santa and that one special elf)
and hit the road. River Road to be exact. Getting ready to make my escape...
River Road north of New Orleans is a fairly pretty ride. Broad sweepers with the River on one side and some pretty scenes on the other. It is very old on both sides of the River.
I traveled up the east bank as far as Destrahan, crossed there and then continued up the west bank where the river road there is called The Great River Road. There are many plantations along the way. I only passed one of them before I hopped back across the River at Gramercy, then to Sorrento, and La 22--a very nice pastoral Louisiana road with just a little traffic and many sweepers.
On to Pontchatoula and then back to New Orleans. All totaled just under 170 miles.

Crossing the River to the West Bank brought me to Edgard.
I headed north and eventually crossed the River at the next bridge up, at Gramercy.
Once back on the East bank, the sun was sinking and I had to make tracks to do La 22 and make it back home before dark. So, sorry, no more photos, but I did get to check out the Zumo
I got nearly 5 hours on a full charge and was able to check the "calibration" of my speedometer.
My speedometer generally read about 2-3 mph faster than the zumo, from 60 indicated to 100 indicated, and actually more likely 2 than 3 mph difference. I was a little surprised, thought it'd be farther apart.
And the levees here, i.e., along the River were not the ones that broke during Katrina. The River levees remained intact.

We were working in that area last summer trying to find where the Chandeleur Islands went... we found them in 15' of water.
