They wear large. They break in slowly. Your shifts might be clunky for a while as you adjust to the feel of your toes through the leather.

I used copious amounts of Murphy's Oil Soap as a break-in and conditioning oil - small amount of water, large amount of Murphy.

Figure 6-8 weeks before you suddenly realize one day those boots feel great!

mikecam-
thanks for the feedback. i was contmplating sending them back and trying the 11s, but that just seems a bit too small. wish they had an 11.5. their information sheet says to try an insert to 'help a loose-fitting boot feel like it is custom made.' tried one of my orthotics last night and it was a bit too tight. need to find an old running shoe insert today and see if that does the job.
best regards,
pat

Love the Combat Lites. Agreed they break in slowly - can't tell you how many shifts I missed before they loosened up a little.

Mine are a little large also, not so much in length but the instep is high. The Superfeet insoles are nice to help get a custom fit. It's also nice to have some room to wear thicker socks on the cold days. They are not super comfortable for walking but a great all-around riding boot. Mine have always stayed dry and I love the traction of the cleated sole for urban riding. Good luck!
