OEM Mirrors

One of my OEM mirrors seems to have loosened up and sags on its own under way. These are the round black mirrors on a 2002. I saw no set screw, is there a way to tighten the head to prevent this sagging issue?

There's a Torx-head fastener on the bottom of the mirror fitting on the handlebars, just about concentric with the shaft that holds the mirror. Tighten this fastener while holding the mirror shaft steady. There's the proper Torx wrench in your tool kit.

Or did you mean that the mirror itself sags on the shaft?

The head of the mirror moves. If I start out with the coorect shoulder height setting, in an hour I am viewing the rear directionals? Any cure?

i reckon that ball joint is sealed as such with no means of tightening
If there is a method of adjustment, i'd like to know! I think my o/s mirror will be soon pointing south if it gets much looser

I have my used stock mirrors that are available for a very cheap price, if you need them.

Which are the ones that look real neat on the RR? is it the ones from the K1200??
or have i got it completely wrong??

Those are nice, Steve. But I went with the CL mirrors. They seemed to fit the contour of my bike and the look of it from the front. I picked up used ones from Beemerboneyard.com

Kristy, mine are CL mirrors also. Maybe just a different model.

I'd try winding some thickish black thread round the inside of the ball & socket as a temporary measure to increase the friction. If that is possible- just a thought experiment.

I tried to look it up in the parts catalog and although they show both the oval & round mirror, they do not list the part number. SEE PARTS PAGE HERE

So I checked beemerboneyard too, and they have a used one from a 1200C for $15.00. So maybe the round ones are from earlier years???? You have to get that bush part (listed as number 2 in the picture) too if you want to put the mirror on an R1150R. SEE BEEMBERBONEYARD 1200C MIRROR HERE
