My EWS didn't fail, my rear-drive didn't fail

Post by deilenberger »

Just thought I'd get this on record. As of 05/02/08 - no EWS or rear-drive problems, almost 13k miles.

If anyone else would like to report no problems - please feel free to..

....just wondering what you are trying to accomplish or prove by this reverse poll?
we all understand that BMW is a quality machine......but this poll will NOT make anybody who had those problems feel any better. glad to hear that YOU and THOUSANDS of other have no problems.....and I only wish that it stays this way.......but get real......did you get up on the wrong side of the bed?

The options are a bit confusing, which one am I meant to tick for 'no ews or final drive problems'?...9300 problem free miles on my 07.

Any of them. There isn't one if you have problems.. this is only for people who've been problem free (most of us I suspect..)

Righto, but I wouldn't expect them to with only 2700 miles.

I hate to spoil a flawless thread...

but my EWS did fail two weeks after taking delivery (4-4-2008) (approx 300 miles on the odometer) on a 2008 R1200R.

Roadside assistance picked it up from my apartment and it was totally covered under warranty.

*Don't ask about my luck lately. #-o New Ridgeline drivers window smashed by a thief during a heavy rain storm about $3k total in water damage/glass & drivers door. Left index finger cut to the bone when my knife slipped cutting a plastic wire tie. A freak hail storm at my house in MO beating up my CR-V that should have been in the garage. Refrigerator died and everything went in the trash. ...and that is just the big stuff!!!

EWS failure at 6700 miles on a 2007--fortunately in my garage! Also fortunately I have another bike. I just got it back. No charge for anything including the pickup at my house. Dealer says mine is the 2nd one he's seen--the other was an F800.

Yes a 2007 R1200R (black--no stripes!) I've had it a little over a year. They also did a "software upgrade" that supposedly resolves a pinging issue that I've never seen even with the few times I've used regular gas.
