Tire Balancing

I'm thinking about doing my own tire change on my 03 R1150R and was wondering has any one had any experience with this product. Sounds interesting and could be something to consider thanks ..............Jerry

I once had a tire that the dealer was having a hard time balancing. He recommended the Dyna Beads, so we used them and they helped the tire to be much smoother than with the weights. I took like 5 oz's of weight to get the tire to balance. Needless to say the tire was defective and was shortly thereafter replaced. But for the short time it was on the bike it was much better than being balanced with weights.

Honestly, if you are mounting and balancing your own tires, the weights would be easier to use. i have static balanced about 8 tires now and they were all fine up to triple digit speeds. No weird vibrations due to being unbalanced.

Know what? I'm TIRED of hearing about these all over the moto-net...and me not having tried them yet.

So I just ordered some, and will post back when I change my rear (as in tire, you goofs... ) in about a month....

I put the Dynabeads in both my front and rear tires about 3000 miles ago. I am very satisfied with them. Both front and rear run smooth with no detectable trace of vibration.

I will soon replace my rear tire with new and intend on using them again.

I got Michelin Pilot Road CT2 tires from SW. It was pricey but worth the money.
First Local BMW dealer was asking $135.00 + Tax + Valve steams + shop fee.
Second Almost Local BMW dealer refused to do the job at all, since I did not buy tires from him.
I took both tires off the bike and went with the third party for total of $34.20 just for the mounts.
My rear wheel had about 2oz of weight and the front one had 0.5oz, both with Avon tires.
I took the old weights off and loaded the rear tire with 2.5oz and front tire with 1.5oz of Dynabeads.
4500 miles later, tires look good. I took my bike to 125 for about 2-3 minutes with no problems and no vibrations.
I really can not tell that my bike is smoother or has less vibrations, but front tire looks very good after 4500 miles.
I think that I am done paying for balancing tires. DynaBeads is the way to go.
And for my BMW dealers. They are both very good dealerships and nice guys too.
But I have to take care of number ONE "ME"
