A new (custom made) sport windshield.

Sporty windshield seems to be my obsession.

In a shop I found this http://www.tagomotocorse.com/yamaha/fz1 ... rafato.php and saw a good potential in it.

Since it is designed for FZ1, has been necessary to manufacture a new frame to fit it onto my R12R.

Final result is good to me: windshield well matches with the bike making the appeal more aggressive, furthermore noise, due to air buffeting on my helmet, is now absolutely acceptable.

That looks very good!! THe frame is very nicely made and the angle the screen is mounted at is perfect to fot the lines of the R1200R. Your R still remains one of the coolest I've seen up to date.

ziobato, I just realized that I've had a picture of your bike as the background on my computer desktop for a long time -- I never knew where that bike was from, I just knew that I wanted one just like it -- it's GORGEOUS!

I don't have a bike right now (I last rode a Mk III Norton many years ago), but I'm looking at getting a new bike in the next couple of years, and the R12R is very high on my list. I saw a picture of yours somewhere, and told myself that that is the most beautiful BMW I've ever seen.

The picture I have was taken from the bike's left side, with the same brick driveway in your pics, but with a foggy hillside community in the background. Very rich looking -- I told myself I'd never be able to afford that level of living, but maybe someday I'd have that same model bike!

Hope it's okay with you if I keep that pic on my computer desktop!

Back to the windshield, I'm curious -- was there anything in particular about your new windshield, other than perhaps the tint (not that that isn't plenty sufficient justification itself!) that made you decide to try it on your bike?

From the pic I have of your clear windshield, there doesn't seem to be a great difference between it and your new one in terms of overall windscreen dimensions, so I'm somewhat surprised that the difference in helmet buffeting is so notable between the two windshields.

Could you possibly offer us any insight?

I've got the alloy plugs from MotoCorse (Handle bar end weight set + Frame plugs kit + Oil filter cap) http://www.motocorse.net/homeing.asp

1) It’s a yes!
2) The shape. I was not happy with the Sport I've modified. The new one is much better matching with my RR (and much more aggressive too).
3) Probably, despite length from bottom to top is similar and mounting angles pretty different, new one’s arrows-like shape (lower part) and overall V shapes (from bottom to top) make the difference. Now I feel less air onto the helmet and foremost less turbulence (earplugs no more indispensable when riding over 70mph).
4) Picture will came in a few days: I damaged left fork alloy plugs… you have to wait spare one's delivery.

Ziobato, Did you make the "rough frame" and then add the "fixing brackets" or did you find the "rough frame" on another bike? Or find the rough frame on another bike and make modifications?
