Battley Cycles in Gaithersburg is reporting that BMW NA will not have representation at the show....Anyone else hear that?

If you plan to attend Long Beach, New York City, Chicago, or Cleveland, you're in luck. Otherwise, BMW will not be there. This is according to the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows website.

I guess it's just a matter of not getting enough return for their investment. I'm sure they picked the areas where they get the most sales. Now if they were GM,Ford or Chrysler they could just spend a few mil dragging their product to the shows, and the government (we the people) would foot the bill for the party. Looks like the businessmen in Germany still practice business, in the long run (IMHO) a good thing for the marque.

I can't remember where I read this that they (BMW NA) was only going to show with at least XXX people going to the show. I did attend the Seattle show and it was not crowded (felt kinda empty actually) at time I was there.

Just got back from the DC show. No BMW among others. The show was disappointing to me. Years past were much better in my opinion. Seemed to cater to the cruiser and tattoo crowd.

Just got back from the show. No BMW, but Triumph had a nice contingent this year, and the Ducati pavillion was packed. If MV Agusta was there, I missed them, which is a shame, but I got to sit on a KTM RC8, a Yamaha FZR-R1, and a Suzuki Hayabusa and thereby confirm that middle aged men with fat a**es have no business on 10/10ths sport bikes. I wish I hadn't bought a new helmet last month; the selection was awesome. No PIAA vendors, unfortunately.

BTW, is there something wrong with Harleys and/or tattoos?

No--nothing wrong with it or them but it seemed to me a good percentage of the vendors leaned that way. Just not my cup of tea! But in their defense I realize you have to market what sells. I also realize that most of my disappointment is based on the fact the BMW chose not to participate. That was very surprising to me.
