Removing spray paint.

Post by aure0011 »

I recently bought a theft recovery '04 Rockster. The thieves spray painted over most of the bodywork, but for the most part missed the frame. However there is a little bit of overspray on some parts of the frame as well as some of the carbon fiber pieces. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to remove the over spray without damaging the original paint. Any help would be great.

I would use celulose thinners on a rag to remove most of the aresol paint and finish off with T cut or a similar paint cutting compound and then wax polish

It has worked for me in the past

if anyone is interested, lacquer thinner has been working great removing the overspray on the frame and engine. Just use an old stiff bristled tooth brush.
