Brake wire question

Could someone humor a newbie and help me determine which of the three wires leading into the tail light assembly of my (new to me) 2002 R1150R is the brake wire? I recently installed an S48 Coocase top case, and I am attempting to complete the wiring installation.

I should probably be patient and wait for the Clymer Repair Manual that I have ordered to arrive (I understand that it should have wiring diagrams), but I thought with the wealth of knowledge I have read on this site...that I could not be in better hands.

I did try searching the website for this answer already, but I did not seem to find it in any of the previous posts. If I have missed the answer...my apologies.

I have a partial answer but it should be of help to you. Basically there are three wires, the brown is always the ground wire in our bikes. The other two are running light and brake light. So with a 12 volt tester, the tone that looks like an screwdriver handle with a bulb under the handle and the end shapped like an ice pick with a ground wire, connect the ground and turn your running lights on, then prick one of the wires, if the test light comes on that is the running light and the other one is the brake light.

If not that is the brake light wire. To test, depress the front or rear brake handle/foot and see if the test bulb lights.......you are home free.

Preamble: For my 700th post on this forum, I am pleased to be able to offer this hopefully helpful tidbit:

Brake Input wire on BMWs is: Gray with Yellow stripe.

You can find this wire as it exits the rear, right-hand corner of the fuse box in a taped wire loom and tap into it there if it's more convenient. I tapped it inside (under) the fuse box by removing the four screws that hold the top (containing all the fuses and relays) in place, and lifting it out because I wanted all connections to be protected from weather.
